HEY!

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! Mine was great! Our whole mission seperated into our zones, met at different church buildings and spent from 8 am to 4 pm reading the New Testament! It was so much fun (don't worry, we had breaks all throughout!) and I gained so much out of it!

We were told to look for all the commandments from Jesus Christ and all the blessings associated with it! It took me a long time to get through it in those hours ( I didn't even finish Matthew), but it felt fulfilling to actually study and ponder the scriptures.

Then we went home and headed off to a ward Halloween trunk or treat party! It was fun, but after being there for 30 minutes we were bushed and went home. We watched "Legacy" that night (ugh...it'd been years for me. Made me cry. Of course.) and went to bed a half hour early! Woot! Good day, I say!

This week we have seen lots of cool stuff happen! We're working really hard trying to find new people (since half of our investigators were made members last month.. that's a good thing. But now we need more people to teach! haha!) The Lord is so good to us here in ^^^. We are so blessed with miracles every day! People we have been trying to contact for forever now are finally being reached, even people that we were not intending to find are found! Lots of new opportunities to teach new people this week!

For instance, last Sunday we received a referral from a kid in one of our wards. He said his friend would be interested in meeting with us. Luckily, the referral was in one of our other wards. Within our first lesson he was committing to baptism and we were setting up a date for the end of the month! He is so excited about the Gospel and LOVED church yesterday! His name is Rio and he's 16. His parents speak Spanish so we're hoping to get them taught by the Elders! We are grateful for that referral by a friend who cared enough to ask if he might be interested in learning more. Wow. I really look to that as an example!

We are also teaching a little 9 year old boy named Seh. He's SO smart and knows his stuff!! He even teaches US in our lessons with him! His parents are pretty active, but decided to wait until he was ready to be baptized... I think this kid was BORN ready! Hahaha! He's such a sweetie and his favorite story in the scriptures is about Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego (I know I totally spelled all those wrong...) Funny kid :) He's getting baptized next Saturday!

Yesterday Cord (13 yr) and Oar (18 yr) received the Aaronic Priesthood! I love seeing recent converts becoming more and more involved in the Gospel! There is nothing cooler than that!

Oh! So we met this lady last week by total divine inspiration! I was looking through our area book in past former-investigators to see who we might be inspired to visit. I came across a teaching record of a lady named Col. No phone number was listed, so I looked through our phone's contacts for a Col. The phone has been in our area for awhile, but I still found a Col!

Thinking it was the lady we were looking for I called the number. Col answered and told us to come over "now!" We were shocked and delighted and did so! She is an older lady with a lot of health problems and great strife over past things in her life. As we sat there talking with her she opened up about her feelings of her past (with VERY colorful language) and my companion and I both thought "oh boy... this'll be interesting..". Every other word was a swear word and she was very passionate about what she was talking about... She hates Joseph Smith for reasons untrue, and refused to even learn about him. We decided to just talk about the Book of Mormon and encouraged her to read. She said she would, but then threw the book into a drawer and slammed the door shut. I prayed in my mind she would read after we left.

A few days later we met with her again and she was a completely different person. She had read. She liked it. She felt the words were true. We invited her to church and she said she'd consider it... She ended up coming for all three hours yesterday, including the ward's "break the fast" potluck after church! She said she really enjoyed herself and loved the lessons. The power of the Spirit is amazing. She hardly swore and her anger was kindled, and she paid attention to what we taught in that second lesson. What a beautiful thing to see such a change of heart!

I know this Gospel is true. It changes lives. I love it so much and I wish I had enough strength to just scream it to the world! No matter what we've been through or are GOING through in life this Gospel of Jesus Christ will bless us. I know it.

I love you all so much! * * *
Stay true!

Love, Sister Sunscreen the Sunbeam!
