March 26, 2012

Hello!

Wow, this week has been CRAZY! (and loooong..) So first off, I guess I'll start at last Monday afternoon: Sisters C and M were dropped off at the Mission Home for their "last supper", so M's companion, Sister F (from New Zealand) and I became temporary companions. We finished working the rest of the night and then surprised our companions with farewell decorations and a homemade p'zookie (a half-baked cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. A.maz.ing.)

We had our final slumber party together that night (SO FUN!!!) and then the sisters left at 5 am Tuesday morning. After we hugged and said goodbye and shut the door behind them, Sister F and I sat in the living room and just cried and cried! I'd have to say that we were mainly sad because being a missionary is so special, and the fact that they would no longer be full-time missionaries broke our hearts (in fact it scared the living daylights out of us that someday that will happen to US! GAH!)

But I am so happy that they are home now with their loved ones, It's an odd thought that we all see it as a farewell and sad thing, but the "rest of the world" sees it as a homecoming! Hahaha! It's all backwards out here ;)

BUT... I got my newbie on Wednesday morning: And I was right! Sister N from Garland! (of course she didn't remember me, but that's alright. We were 4... And I'm weird at remembering stuff anyhow). She's awesome and has SUCH a greenie fire! It's reactivating my greenie spirit! It's refreshing to go over all the training that I went through not too long ago! I'm learning so much! The first two days of training were hard; mainly because I was so nervous that I'd miss something or not be a good trainer! Those feelings didn't last too long once I realized where they were coming from!

We have a booklet we train from, and just by following the outline it gives us, our training has been so fun! She's doing so awesome! Already she talks boldly and openly and isn't afraid to share the Gospel with complete strangers. Atta girl! :D Training is SO much easier than I had made it up in my mind. I had concluded the other day (with the Spirit) that all I need to do is be myself; continue to be the missionary that I already am! I was given this sacred assignment and I love it!

This week we picked up 5 new investigators! HOLY MOLY! They are all awesome! One of them is a woman (a former investigator from a few years ago) named MT (she's from Malaysia- sp?)... she told us "I'm 85% Mormon. The other 15% I just need a stronger testimony in the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith!" .... I'm excited for this one!

Well, I better go. That's about all I have to report on for this crazy week!

Thank you for your love and support! I know this Gospel has been restored to the earth once more. We have a living prophet today! And we are so blessed to hear from him this weekend! Go to conference with questions; pray and ask Heavenly Father for answers, and as you listen He will give them to you! I can promise you that!!

I love you all!
Love, Sister Moore
