HEY!
WOW! Sounds like everything back home is going so well! I am so happy in knowing that you are all safe and happy! CONGRATULATIONS Lo!! Wow. Baby #6! I think you definitely win the "most kids" award now. Good for you! ;) Hehehe I can't believe I'll be coming home to a new little cousin! Daww.... :D keep me posted on what it is when you find out!
H, good luck on the job! I hope you get it!
M.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON SATURDAY!! (I am sending you a little something today... part of it is homemade!) I cannot believe you will be 20! We're getting old, "sir"! ;D
Oh, and Happy President's Day today! To celebrate we are going to the local aquarium with a recent convert and his parents (who aren't members...yet!) the V family! I am quite excited!
So this past Saturday we had a baptism for La. It went so well! She was baptize with her niece and nephew, and as she was dipped in the water you could see a little smile emerge on her face. As she came up out of the water she BEAMED! Gosh, I love Heavenly Father's work!! How am I so lucky?!? I am so blessed to be a part of all of this! Her confirmation was beautiful yesterday. Sister C and I wrote down her blessing for her (I've started doing that now for our recent converts. I wish I had thought of it since the beginning!).
This Saturday D will be baptized! She is actually going through with it this time around, and she is READY FOR THIS! She's been through a lot of trials to get to this point, but she is so much stronger now because of it. The Lord sure does work in mysterious and magical ways! (I love it)
We have an investigator who wants to be baptized but has to give up smoking first. Her name is Le. Oh my gosh, this woman is a power-house! She is so on top of things, and when she wants something, she goes for it! Her husband does not want her to join the church, mainly because we're "not Christian"... pish posh! Sure we are! He just needs to listen! Don't worry, we'll catch him at home one of these days! (he likes to sneak away when he knows we're coming over. Either that or he'll leave if we randomly stop by)
She is now on day #5 and holding strong! The Mission put forth a program to help smokers break the habits and overcome their addictions. It's a simple, yet foolproof program, so long as they follow all the steps! One of the fifteen steps is to eat a healthy snack (simple, right?). The goal is to cleanse her body of toxins, along with distracting her senses from a nicotine craving. This is one of the easiest and simple steps, but still an important one.
Being a little short on money, and in need of support, we felt inspired to get the ward involved. We call it, "The Healthy Helpers" (lame, I know...but whatever. We're missionaries. We can do that). There will be a person a day in her ward that will stop by her house to give her a healthy snack! Already, we have a ton of people signed up to do this! Everyone is so excited! This idea was truly of the Spirit... because now this way she feels supported, gets to know the members of her ward, gets her healthy snack, allows her husband to see that we are loving, Christian people, and gives the members an opportunity to be involved in missionary work and service! Gosh.... it's just a great thing all around!
:D
Happy Missionary! There are just so many good things happening here. Even if things are going crazy! Please pray for me this week. I've got a long road ahead of me. Nothing bad, just long and rigorous. It always is! But worth it at the end of the day.
(I think that my asking for that is superfluous... I already know you pray for me: because I can feel it every day! And I thank Heavenly Father for that. Just know that I am constantly praying for all of you, too!)
I love you all so much! I hope you continue to see miracles in the little things of life. They're there. Sometimes we just have to be looking to see them.
See a great week!
Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah for Israel! * * *
Love, Sister Meg
