Dearest loved ones,
SO... Transfer calls came last night... The Lord must need me here, 'cuz I'M STAYING HERE!!! WOO!!! Seriously, this past week I just felt that I was staying. I knew I didn't have to worry about transfers, even IF I was called somewhere else. But here we are! Sister C is staying with me (she goes home at the end of this transfer) so that means one of two things: I'm staying here at least ONE more transfer after this one, or we're being "white-washed" out, meaning two new missionaries will come in and take over.. which I don't see happening. But the Lord will do what He wants! And I'm okay with that. Yay!
So all mail can still be sent to my apartment address :D
I love this city. It's a fantastic area! Full of so many people ready to hear the Gospel!
Oh, so don't worry about my short letter last week... truth of the matter is, we went hiking as a Zone and then went to the church and played games afterward. I decided to just go play and hang out, hence the short letter..... :/ Sorry. I love you guys, but that was all I could muster as far as a letter went last week. We get no play-time as missionaries, and it was my only chance to really relieve all my stress... JUST PLAY! I hope you understand. Missionary life is very different than "normal life" ;) This week's letter should be longer!
This week went so well! We have a new investigator named N, and she is AMAZING! Already she expressed her desire to be baptized! (Where are all these people coming from?!) :D We are meeting with her again tonight to discuss a day that she can be baptized. I cannot wait!
Last night we also picked up a new investigator named L. He's 10 years old, and his mom is in one of our wards. His mom was baptized a year ago. We weren't planning on putting him on-date for baptism last night, but the Lord had plans of His own. I'm glad. Because near the end of our lesson I heard myself say "Would you like to be baptized on the 25th of February?" (we had prayed as a companionship beforehand and felt this date would be good for him... we just hadn't discussed extending that date last night). I was shocked. I find it amazing when the Spirit fills your mouth with the words that He wants you to say! He looked up at his mom and said without hesitation, "Yes!". His mom's jaw dropped and then she began to cry. It was a very neat experience as we continued to explain the importance of baptism, and how it is the first step back to our Father in Heaven. He's a shy kid, but showed his excitement in being baptized.
I love this work.
This week went by so great! Our Book of Mormon Movie night was, yet again, another success! We watched the Brother of Jared cartoon and made "prayer rocks" to remind them to pray every morning and night. They loved that! We tied it in with how the Brother of Jared used rocks to guide them and give them light. Prayer is like our own rock, guiding us and giving light in our lives! Next week we are watching the story of Mormon and Moroni. It's the last cartoon before we watch the "Joseph Smith Story". After that, the Book of Mormon Movie night will be done! So I'm thinking that we will transition it into the "Book of Mormon Club", with a logo and everything! We'll do more reading but still have activities and games to keep it fun! Now that they know the stories a little better, it'll be a great way to transition. This whole idea was so inspired. It has kept our converts close to the church, and excited about the scriptures! I'VE even learned a great deal!
I am happy everyone back home is doing so well! I appreciate and love all of your letters and support! Never forget how much I love you all!
! I LOVE Sister C! We are having so much fun together, and we get along great! Her card was funny, huh? Hahaha! She's going to work for Pixar someday; that's her dream :)
And yes, I was okay. I WAS stressed out last week, but just needed to play. Plus, I had written and drawn letters for the Godwin boys, so that also took up some time. They sent me pictures for valentine's day :) it was cute!
Stay true!
Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah for Israel!! * * *
Love, Sister Meg
