HELLO!!
So first off.... I'M STAYING IN T!!!! Unfortunately, though, Sister M is leaving :( and ps I am not training (as of yet). We got the calls this morning because the Assistants and President H weren't finished with the Transfer Board by last night (our Christmas party was last night at the H's! More on that later!). But oh my goodness, I am so grateful I am staying! GA!!
Second: I LOVED TALKING TO YOU YESTERDAY!!! It was so great :) I hung up the phone, wiped my tears and knelt down to pray... I was so grateful to talk to you guys.. It brightened my day and made my Christmas complete. Hunter sounds OLD, by the way. Stop it. I know you're a growing boy, but please. Stop. And Madds! Sounds like everything is going great with things! Keep up the great food plan! (send me Dukan's tips please!) All of you.... I JUST LOVED IT!
It sounds like you all had a beautiful Christmas! I am glad. Sister M and I shared our Christmas traditions with each other Christmas Eve night, and then in the morning we opened our presents. But it didn't feel like Christmas. And that bothered me. This whole month I haven't felt it!
But last night at President and Sister H's, the T Zone met together for a mini devotional and testimony meeting. We also watched It's a Wonderful Life (well, we "watched" it... we all mainly goofed off and had a good time and ate lots of good food!) But anyway, one of the Elders stated that the reason he figures NONE of us felt like it was Christmas was because every day as a missionary you FEEL the Christmas Spirit! You don't have to wait for one special day to feel that special thing. I could agree with that, but I would also add the fact that we are all just so stinkin' busy with this work that we don't have time to get caught up in all the hullabaloo that comes with the holiday season (i.e. Santa, shopping malls, and all that jazz).
This Christmas was different. It was special. It was very sacred for me. I've been reflecting a lot recently about the greatest gifts I have ever given someone else, and the greatest gifts I have ever received at Christmastime. I then approached it in a figurative and spiritual way. What has been the greatest gift I have ever been given?
The blessing of an Eternal Family. Parents who baptized me when I was 8. Growing up in the Gospel under dedicated and loving parents. Support and encouragement and love as I have chosen to come out on a mission. THESE are some of the greatest gifts you have given me.
As for our Father in Heaven, He has given us His Son Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son" .... just for us. Jesus Christ descended from His throne on high to be born into a helpless baby body, to live a mortal life (a PERFECT mortal life) and give up His life so that WE may obtain Eternal Glory and Life.
What are some of the greatest blessings you have received? Ponder it. We all have so many!
Gosh, I love you guys! It was great to talk to you! And thank you to EVERYONE for sending me gifts and love and cards and letters!!! I'm a little backed up on my writing right now, so it may take a while to get back with all of you, but know that I truly appreciate it and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I LOVE YOU ALL! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!
HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!
Love, Sister Moore
