9-11-11

Dearest loved ones,

Wow.... all your emails were HILARIOUS!! I'm sitting in the Guadalupe biblioteca (it's a spanish library), and I couldn't help but bust out laughing out loud!! ....I need to be quiet here! Sheesh! Haha! It sounds like everything back home is still as hilarious as ever! :D

So things HERE are still amazing, and getting better and better each day! This Saturday was my first baptism! Trevor is a super cute 9 year old, and he wanted to be baptized so bad after his parents divorced and went inactive for years. We're also teaching his older brother who is 11 and just as anxious to be baptized! He'll be baptized on the 24th! The Lord has blessed me so much out here. We are having SO much success, despite the hardships and fall-throughs that we may have. Trevor's testimony is so sure and strong. He knows that Heavenly Father loves him, and after his interview to be baptized with our District Leader, the Elder said "Wow! What did you guys teach him? He is PUMPED!" .... the great thing is is that it wasn't US teaching; it's all the Spirit of the Lord!!

The weather is cooling down and on Saturday night it was actually windy and slightly rainy! Sister Makela and I jumped out of our car and exclaimed "It feels so good!! It's so cool outside!". To my amazement, the thermometer still read 98*.
Eeeewwww..... if 98* is COOL, then I MUST be getting used to this heat! Hahaha! And the thing that still baffles me is that nearly every woman in church (and I say this with no exagerration) wears a sweater! Ga...

So question: When is the Primary Program? I would love to know! That way I can write the primary a little note of encouragement and love!

And about the cake supplies: I'll need the medium and small pans. Before I left I sorted through all my deco stuff, and placed them all in one pile in the pans. They should be just sitting on top of my boxes in my closet. Just send everything in that little pile (should have spatulas, tips, bags, and the scraper). I need them by Thursday, if that's not too much of a hassle! I'm making a cake for an investigator who has no money nor job and whose son is turning 2! I thought I'd help her out :)

We have so many investigators on date for baptism, and I am so super excited! The Lord blesses us so much!!! I love this work, and I'm begining to realize how much missionaries depend on the members to help find people and come to lessons... So I urge all of you back home to become more involved with the missionaries in our stake. They need it more than you know. Trust me. I'm there! :)

I'm grateful to live in this land where our freedoms extend to practicing the religion that we know to be true. I'm forever grateful for the men and women who sacrifice their time and even their lives so that we can have our freedoms in this beautiful land. I love this country, and I'm so grateful that I was called by God to serve in His children in it! I have the freedom to go out and preach and teach... without that freedom, missionary work would not be possible in so many places. The Lord truly does prepare his land and people to hear the true message!

Well I love you all so so much! I wish I had more time to email and tell you EVERYTHING! But I'll send you pics this week! Stay strong and sure, and the Lord will bless you with things even greater than you could have imagined!

Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah for Israel!

Love, your favorite missionary, Meg!
