My dearest family and friends,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Can you believe it's been five months?? I can't! Time is so crazy! This week has gone by oober slow, but the work is starting to pick up again!
So my new companion's name is Sister C! She has been out for 15 months. She is super crazy and funny, and we have lots of fun, it's almost exhausting! She's always cracking jokes and doing something funny... it's gonna be an awesome transfer! We are contacting so many people and getting a lot of new insights as to how we can improve the area! So much is happening so fast. I just love it!
For New Year's we were told to be in our apts by 7 pm and take some time to study. So I sat on my new "bed" (the couch--- we have termites in our apartment, and they are eating the roof above my bed. So I moved. AUGH! The exterminators should be coming today) and studied. It was a quiet night, and very peaceful. Sister Corbett and I drank some Martinelli's and did a count down to 10:00! Woot! I was exhausted; literally HIT... so I fell asleep at the usual 10:30. PARTY. ANIMAL. I'm glad to hear you all had a fun time! I hope you were all safe and happy!
So this week has been FULL of miracles! One right after the other! How blessed we are to be involved in this Gospel! The Lord is amazing, and has strengthened me so much this week. I'll admit, it was beginning to stress me out because of transfers and having to take over the area for a time to show my new companion the ropes. Whenever you have a transfer you are pretty much the only one that can do anything for a while because the other missionary doesn't know the area. Now I feel REALLY bad for Sister M when I first got here. I now know what she went through.... it's so crazy! SO. MUCH. WORK. Good thing I'm used to working under a lot of pressure and working on a lot of things at once. I manage well. But only with the Lord's help! We had a baptism and lots of things to do this weekend, and this week could have been more stressful than it really was if it weren't for the saving grace of the Lord!
Our baptism on Saturday was for M! Her baptism and confirmation were beautiful. The Spirit is so indescribable at baptisms. M was so incredibly happy, and I am SO THRILLED for her in making this huge step in her life! She wasn't able to get baptized because she and her boyfriend were living together, not able to get married because his divorce is not final yet. But it was her goal to be baptized by the end of the year, so she grabbed it all by the horns and made it happen! The boyfriend moved out, and everything went well! She's amazing. I'll send you pics this week! SO HAPPY FOR HER!!!
B (the 14 year old chica) is getting baptized this Saturday night! When they announced it in church she was super shy, but she was beaming! You can just SEE how happy she is with the righteous choices she is making. She adores the Young Women in her ward; she clings to them for friendship, and all of them are such amazing friends to her! She even asked for all of the young women to be a big part at her baptism! Fellowship makes all the difference. TRULY. I need to be a better friend to those who need it. That is my goal for when I return home: be a better member missionary, but even more, a better friend! B is such a sweet girl, and it is my prayer that she continues to be strong in the Gospel, and that she continues to be an amazing and righteous example to those around her. I am so proud of her!
We are supposed to have a baptism on the 14th of this month for "I", but since she had that mild stroke a couple of weeks ago she is still recovering. She CAN walk, talk and do most functions, however, but is still very weak. Her baptism may have to be postponed to a later date. But I am praying for a miracle! Always. I don't want to have to wait for this one. She is so ready for baptism, and has been from the start! She's solid, and I hope she can get baptized very soon! Please keep her in your prayers!
Gosh, there are so many miracles happening here.
I love it!
And I love you! May we all strive to make righteous and worthy goals for this upcoming year! Make at least ONE spiritual resolution for 2012! This year is going to be AWESOME!!
'Till next time..... HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!
Love, Sister Meg
