I wanted to say something before I post the latest letter. I am so thankful for my daughter's willingness to serve a mission. These letters that we get each week are special to me. I look forward to hearing the latest adventure and her growing testimony of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.

It is also very hard to not see my child for so long. I am not complaining. I just wanted to tell someone that I miss her so much. I would not wish for her to be any other place, though.

I am thankful for my children. They are good and kind and I am blessed to have them in my life. When I grow up, I want to be just like them.

Hello!

So... AWESOME WEEK! B was baptized this past Saturday and so many miracles occurred there! (I love baptisms!) B's best friend K is not yet baptized. Her parents are less-active, and a few months back K's mom said that K was not ready to go to church (more like SHE just wasn't ready to take her to church). But lo and behold, K AND her parents showed up to the baptism! I prayed that the baptism would be a powerful experience for them. The Spirit was so strong as B stepped into the water, a huge smile on her face, and as she was baptized by her Bishop. She was so excited and READY for this day; you could just see it! As we all walked back into the chapel after the ceremony, I noticed K's mom crying. I silently prayed that the Spirit would continue to change and soften her heart.

Yesterday, as we walked into the chapel for Bree's confirmation, I saw K and her parents, second row, in the middle.... My heart leaped! We went over and before I could even say hello her mom said "Sister, we want the lessons again. We want you to come over."

This was big! She didn't want us over in the past, and here was our chance! The Spirit was changing her! So trying to remain calm, and trying to wipe off the HUGE grin on my face, we set up a time to meet with them! Both of them got up to bear their testimonies that day. How powerful it was to hear them say how much they desire to come back into the Gospel, and how much they realize that they want to be an eternal family and eventually be sealed in the Temple together.

THIS is why I'm here: to witness and help bring about these miracles! So we met with them last night and had a frank discussion with just her parents. It was so wonderful, and I cannot wait for K to be baptized!

Another miracle at the baptism: G, our friend from India who *used to be* a Hindu, came to witness a baptism. We showed him the font before the baptism began and talked a little more in-depth about the sacredness of the baptism itself. He asked us "Don't you throw rose petals, or pour fragrances in the water? Perfumes? ANYTHING??" We smiled and replied that the Priesthood is what makes it holy. He smiled and nodded his head. "I like that, Sisters."

After the baptism we asked him what he thought. "It was really cool! And I know I will get baptized someday. But I need to contemplate, and come to know the significance it is for MY life. I want to know what the baptism truly is so that it is sacred to ME. I need to be ready."

I like G's serious nature about these things. He takes good care about them. In our lesson with him last Tuesday I had asked him to pray to know if baptism was the right thing for him in his life. He quickly replied, "But Sister! It IS true! If I didn't already know this was true, I would not be here." :D I love miracles like these. He has come to develop a testimony of Jesus Christ! He loves coming to church and learning more! We have a lot of struggles with him understanding new concepts, but that is all part of the teaching process. We bear testimony and teach simply and the Spirit does all the rest! The Spirit works magic over these people who are ready to hear it!

Gosh I love being a missionary! Last Monday (P-day) Sister C and I were walking down the sidewalk, window-shopping at the downtown marketplace. Whenever we are out in public we wear our regular missionary attire. I noticed a younger guy walk up to us. His clothes were dark and worn, and he look disheveled. He and a girl were sitting on the sidewalk with all of their belongings and a small, dirty dog. They looked filthy and tired. Figuring that he was going to ask for money, I braced myself. But instead he asked, "Are you two angels?" We stopped walking and turned to him. I smiled and replied that we were missionaries! He stood there and looked back at his girlfriend. She grinned up at us and nodded as he replied "You look like angels. Have a beautiful day."

People notice a difference. They notice the Spirit. I am so grateful that I always have the Spirit with me. I could tell you so many stories if I had time about stuff like this! It's so humbling and incredible! People can feel the difference when they don't have the light of Christ in their lives. Are we all acting in a way that people would be able to pick us out in a crowd? Are we someone that anyone could point at and say "THEY are a follower of Jesus Christ." ... I hope so! I know I'm working on that every day!

I love you all so much! YOU are all great examples and strengths to me! Continue to follow Christ! His path is sure and true!

HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!

Love, Sister Meg
