January 16, 2012

My dear familia y amigos,

P-day already? This week has FLOWN! And it's been awesome!!

I have truly gained a deeper testimony this week that the Lord really does have His hand in this work. We are His instruments! I feel that I am just here, witnessing these miracles, as the Lord does His work! It's so amazing. I just do what He asks, and the miracles follow.

B is doing so well! And K is following quickly after! K desires so much to have the glow that B does now. They are both excelling at a rapid pace in this Gospel. I just can't believe what I am seeing! And the beauty of it is they are bringing their parents with them. THEY are the examples to their families!

So K and B came to our Book of Mormon Movie Night on Saturday. We started it back up again now that the Holidays are over! They were the only ones who showed up along with our member fellowship! As we were doing the activity before the movie B and K were teasing each other.
B: Oh yeah? Well I have a QUAND with my NAME on them!
K: What's a Kwand?
B: The whole set of scriptures! IN ONE!
K: Well MY family is reading scriptures together... every night! ...HA!
B: Well at least I'M reading mine by myself every night!

As much as it sounds like they are fighting, I rejoiced in their conversation. If only you knew these two girls: silly teens who think church is "uncool". ;) Don't worry, we can see right through you! I hope they continue to urge one another forward in doing the right thing. They need each other so much. K and her parents and B and her dad were at church yesterday: FOR ALL THREE HOURS!! :D I'm telling ya, the Spirit is amazing! Conversion is real, and it's happening right now! We have a lesson with K and her parents tonight and we are going to put her on date for baptism!

These girls are so hungry for spiritual knowledge. As much as they put up a front about being "bored" with church, or how we "drag" them to activities, they love it. In fact, THEY are the ones who call up their own rides for Young Women's and ask US about the Book of Mormon Movie Night. Cute girls. How I love them so!

This week had its challenges, but the Lord made a complete turn in our week. He's so amazing!

I laughed at the story you sent me about what other preachers in other churches tell their congregation about us! I'll repost it here so everyone can read it too:
"The preachers in other churches were telling their people that the girls were kidnapped and taken to SLC and kept in a room at the top of the Temple. They could only escape by jumping out of the window into the Great Salt Lake and swim away!! (That's quite a jump!)"

One of the ladies we began teaching this past week said something that caught me off-guard. Her name is L, and throughout the lesson she seemed very antsy. But as we neared the end of the lesson her demeanor was calm. Noting her anxiety had melted away I asked if she had any concerns or questions for us. She leaned across the table and said "I'm so relieved... SOO relieved!!! I have been sitting here waiting for you to talk about animals, but you haven't!"

I looked over at Sister C. Huh? "What do you mean?" we asked. She said "Well, I was told by my preacher that you Mormons preach about animals, and that they are your prophets! But you haven't mentioned a single animal this whole time! He was totally wrong about you guys! He said your temples are places where you worship your animal prophets... So what DOES happen in your temples then?"

It took everything in me to not burst out laughing as we gave her the true answers. We have heard CRAZY stuff about what people think we believe. HAHAHA!! This one was pretty classic. Never heard that one before! The adversary makes up the dumbest stuff. And sadly, people believe it! Oy.

L has such an open heart. I pray for good things in her near future! Along with her FAMILY!

I wish I had time to tell you eveything, but alas, my time is up!

I love you all! Stay true to this Gospel... it blesses lives!

'Till next week...

Love, Sister Meg
