Second Email

FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!
It's that time of week again! (one week since I last emailed and wrote?? WHAT???) Time here has FLOWN! And tomorrow I'll hit my two week mark! I got my travel itinerary the other night; we leave the MTC at 5 am to get to the airport next Tuesday, the 23rd. My flight leaves at 8:40! I seriously cannot wait!! GA!!!!
I just love it here in the MTC so so much! I know I keep saying that, but really. It's amazing. And THANK YOU for all of your letters from FHE and for the NO-BAKE COOKIES!! Seriously, I about died... My companion and I are the only ones in our room until tomorrow, (our roommates flew out today to their missions in Argentina), and we get new Sisters tomorrow in our room, so we'll for sure spread the "wealth"! The cookies got to me the same day you sent them, so I'm glad everything worked out! They were just perfect. No worries! Thanks to all who made them!!
Mom, you'll be proud to know that for some strange reason my nails are growing out nice and pretty like yours! (This has NEVER happened...even when I tried!!) They're long and getting longer. It's the weirdest thing ever! I'll have to send you a pic sometime, I guess! And no, I haven't seen any nail polish remover at the store... I guess I'll wait till AZ.
Oh, and about my companion, her name is K.P. She's also going to A with me. It'll be so great to know someone down there! Four Elders from my District are also coming to A. I'm saddened to think that our District is coming to an end as well all depart to different places.. I LOVE our District. They all make this place so much more fun than it already is! Woot for District E!
The other day for Gym we decided to go to the field and play beach volleyball. Everyone wondered who smelled like sunscreen, and despite the laughs, I was the only NOT burnt by the end! I'm telling ya... sunscreen is awesome... :D
We went to the Temple this morning and I just felt so much at home. I think the Temple is the only place I'll ever feel the clsoest to home, no matter how far away I travel... Isn't it amazing that way??
So you know how I said we have investigators already? They are going so well, and I'm learning so much! Every time an appointment goes wrong I learn so much about myself and how to better handle certain situations and questions. But it takes a hard toll emotionally and mentally. Saturday night in class we watched a video of a real investigator who said she wanted to give up. It was so devastating to me to watch everything slip away.... (the missionaries saved the moment, but at that time I was so upset). And then I got to thinking.... It's hard to do what we do. My companion and I had companionship study and we bothed started to cry as we read our Preach My Gospel lessons together. This lasted about twenty minutes (the Elders probably think we're psycho), and I said to Sister P we needed to go for a walk...
It was just about to storm, and as we walked we cried. :) It must have been a funny sight... We haven't been that emotional since we got here! But the thought of investigators falling through is hard. As it started to rain I could feel of God's love for me. At that moment I knew he cared so much about every one of His children, and that he was proud of my efforts, even if I'm not perfect.
It was a great night. We walked around the MTC twice in the rain, just soaking up Heavenly Father's love.
A mission has its ups and downs, that's for sure! The Elders were sweet and kept asking if we were alright.... We were just perfect! (even if our red eyes and sniffly noses didn't look like it)
We had a fireside on Sunday where the Administrative President spoke. He said that to be a success as a missionary is to be COMMITTED. Be OBEDIENT. I got so much out of his talk!
Well, I love you all so so much!
Love, your favorite missionary!!
PS- sorry no pics this week. I'll send you my SD card with my other pics next week before I fly out. Be sure to send me my other SD card back soon!
