July 23, 2012--Staying put this transfer!

Hola!

First off: Transfer business. Sister T and I are staying in ^^^! Woot! (hm.... I'm noticing a trend here.) We were actually way excited to hear that we get to stay here together. :) Can you believe it? Next week: ONE YEAR! GA! Where has time gone? Has it gone as fast for all of you as it has for me?? Or am I just crazy? ;)

Wow! Sounds like the parade was awesome! Thanks for sending me the pics! I got chills just looking at the pictures! I wish I could've seen it in person! haha! So cool :) I especially love how the missionaries were in there! In the MTC we would sing "The Army of Helaman/Bring the World His Truth- song" and change the lyrics to "we are NOW the Lord's missionaries to bring the World His truth!". No one really celebrates the 24th here.... and it's kind of weird because you'd think "Eh, that's just cuz Utah was founded by the Pioneers." .... I thought that too. But they settled here as well.. Weird. Anywho!

My was confirmed yesterday! Yay! no headaches, and everything went well for her to make it to church. Miraculously, I think we found her a place to live! We told her that if she got baptized miracles would happen for her and everything would work out. And what do you know, we get a call from a member saying that she works with a lady who is looking for a roommate, all for the exact price that My can afford! WHA-?? COOL!! I love how miracles and wonderful things like this happen for those who just put their faith in the Lord, and then go and do.

Via and her kids moved away. We were so sad to not have them there with us on Sunday, but she texted us saying that she loves her new missionaries and that they are taking good care of them! I'm so glad :) We will never be able to go to the kids' baptisms because it is out of our mission, but that is alright; just so long as they get baptized! That's all that matters in this work. I think sometimes we get so caught up in "I have to be there for their baptism! I'M one of their missionaries!" .... That's when we start losing focus as to what is really important about the work. It's hard to let go, but what really matters is the Gospel!

Dad, I happened to find a copy of the Home Teaching message this month at one of our church buildings. You told me in your letter to read it if I found it: I DID! President Uchtdorf is correct when he says we are always in the middle of everything we are doing. It sounds confusing, but when you read it it makes sense. In the eternal perspective of things, we are always in the middle. Our time on earth is so small compared to the eternities that we came from and the eternities that lie ahead of us. It's true that if we have the attitude of saying in the middle of our work it's easier to not lose focus. I can already see that the more I think about "Holy cow, I'm 2/3rds of the way done with my mission!" I tend to want to slack off... it's hard to not think of home and COMING home in such a short amount of time.

Focus, Sister Moore. Focus.

We're always in the middle of our lives... because Eternity awaits us.

Sister T and I enjoyed our packages! Sister T said "Oh! Yo mom so cute! I love so much!". I actually didn't realize this, but this Saturday marks her halfway mark on the Mission! I'm going to make her her favorite dessert that day, and we're also planning on sending a letter on some balloons to her mom. It also marks the anniversary of her passing. It's been a rough month for her. I'm grateful the Lord let us stay together... We've talked a lot about her mom and her feelings this past while... please continue to pray for her.

Actually the other day we were going over with a recent convert about the Temple and the Spirit World when Sister T shared a sweet experience about her mom. Right before coming to the US for her mission she went to the Fiji Temple to receive her Endowment. She had no time to do the Temple work for her mom, so she asked a friend to do it for her. After arriving to the Provo MTC, she kept wondering how everything was going for her mom. She was worried. She prayed for an answer to know if her mom was in a good place. She just needed some confirmation.

That night she had a dream about her older sister. They were standing outside the Temple talking when her mom came up to her and hugged her. "Mom! You look young! And Pretty!" she said. Her mom smiled and hugged her again, "Thank you so much! I am in a beautiful place now!" Sister T asked her mom where she was living and she would only reply "A beautiful place!". "Mom, do you remember what my favorite food is?" "The Pancake! I always made it for you!" ... It was a very touching and sweet story about her mom... The Spirit was so strong.

I know her mom accepted the Gospel in the Spirit World. It is through the Temple that we can help our ancestors make it to the Celestial Kingdom. Her mom is now in a happier and more beautiful place now that her work has been done. After her story I began to share some feelings that I felt were not completely my own; the Spirit was filling my mouth with words I hadn't even thought to say... "Sister T's mom is a missionary in the Spirit World, sharing the Gospel with our other brothers and sisters who did not know the Gospel.

Sister T and her mom are doing the same work, side by side, the exact same thing." I began to cry, and so did Sister T. From what was a lesson to our recent convert went to a lesson for the both of us. The Spirit brought us both great comfort; especially Sister T. She's felt so alone without her mom's guidance and support, and I hope she doesn't mind me writing all of this down, but I know that she has been such a strength to me.

Families are meant to be forever.

I love this Gospel. I feel honored to be "in the middle" of it :)
I love you all! See a great week!
H! H! HfI! * * *

Love, Sister Moore
