Greetings!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!! (all of your decorations have made my holiday super special this year)! So, thanks! I hope you all have a fun and safe night!
I can't believe it's already Monday again. Time sure does fly when you're on the Lord's errand! We got two new investigators this week, and more to come! Irma is an amazing woman we met walking through an apartment complex... she agreed to meet with us and our first lesson with her was a-ha-mazing!! You should've seen the look on her face as we read her the account of Joseph Smith's First Vision; she was in complete awe as the Spirit took over the lesson and testified of the truthfulness of the story. She beamed up at us and said "I know it's true!".... GOLDEN. :D
I'm tellin' ya, I wish I had time to email for HOURS to just tell you every little miracle that is happening out here! But alas, I can't. My journals sure are filling up fast, though! I'm almost done with journal #2 before I start on the big one you all signed and gave me :) So if you are looking for Christmas ideas, journals are a perfect gift. I can never have too many out here! They fill up so fast with so much stuff! I'm excited to one day share with you everything I encounter. I just feel really bad that I can't do that now... So in the meantime, I'll just experience the stories, write them down, and await the day to share them all with you ;)
To answer your question about the Book or Mormon Movie Night, Sister M and I were the ones who first started it right as I got here. We've started a wonderful and fun tradition for these people; they love it! We are also thinking of starting a Book of Mormon Book Club for another group of people.... only problem is is that people are more prone to come to a movie than they are to sit and join a book club. BUT IT'S THE BEST BOOK EVER!! We're going to start that and see what happens... but who knows! We actually have some people really excited for it! :D
So this past Thursday Elder W of the second quorum of the 70 came to our mission to talk to us! We had meetings all day from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Woof. But it was so great! I got so much insight and wonderful revelation out of it. He and his wife were truly inspired, and I left with so many great ideas on how to be a better missionary. He told us "It's not about going on a mission; it's about BECOMING a missionary".
I really liked that :)
So anyway, tell Tanner Anderson congrats on the Eagle (WOOT!) and tell the Andersons hey for me! It was good to hear from Sherrie ;) And yes! I totally know Sister W! COOL!! I'm glad you found out! I've been asking the sisters but never discovered who it was! Crazy! (Stephanie: Sister W is in the same home ward as some great friends of ours!)
Mormon.org profile still isn't up yet... need a pic. Check Dad's email for more info.. :)
And I'm so excited to get your pics and letters!! Your letters truly brighten my life :D
I LOVE YOU ALL! HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!
Love, Sister Meg
Oh, PS: Today we are going to start a new program for one of our investigators who is an alcoholic... he is ready for this change in his life. It is NOT going to be easy, so please keep him in your prayers. His name is W. He's been drinking since he was 10, and he has tried stopping before, but we have a program we use as missionaries that is fool-proof; so long as he does the steps! (that'll be the tricky part) but we are getting the ward heavily involved and they are so willing to be his support group. It's so fun to be a cheerleader for something like this! Lots of prayers have gone into this program, and when he finally said he wanted to start it (TODAY!) we are going to do it! I'm willing to sacrifice my P-day for this for sure! :D
And also, today we are having a party (just the T zone) at the Mission Home with President and Sister H. We're lucky missionaries!! Tonight will be fun, even if we can't go out and proselyte.... we were told to stay in our apartments tonight after dark and stay productive. We'll do that for sure! There's always stuff to do as missionaries!
