Hello!
Time. It's crazy.
Time. It's crazy.
This week was full of so many little miracles.... it is amazing to see the Lord's hand in EVERYTHING!! He is so good to us out here. I am so grateful for His love and care. The power of prayer is REAL. Miracles happen when we put forth faith and trust in the Lord, even in the simple matters.
Every week we fill out reports to hand to our ward mission leaders and Bishops of our wards and on those reports are some very personal information (i.e. address, phone numbers, etc) of the people we are working with. They aren't something you want to lose.
Saturday was a cold day, and since we've decided to walk everywhere we go, I had rolled the reports up and slipped them into my pockets of my coat. My coat pockets are deep so the papers weren't sticking out at all. We walked the mile to one of our Bishops when I noticed my pockets were empty. Uh oh... Wouldn't I have noticed papers FLYING out of my pockets as we were walking? Where were they??I said a prayer in my heart that the reports would not be taken or destroyed by the weather, and that we would find them safe and sound. It was a crazy windy day, and despite what reason was trying to tell me, my heart felt at peace.I felt we should walk back to our apartment complex and we would find them there. As we walked, other papers and debris flew around us. But I felt fine and confident our reports would be alright.
As we approached our complex there on the front desert-landscaped lawn were 5 white papers, completely stationary amidst the wind. I probably looked so silly as I rejoiced over our papers and gathered them up from all over the lawn. I was amazed and yet not surprised that they were all still perfectly white, untouched, and all laying face down on the ground, still immovable against the wind. This may sound like a silly little story, but I don't believe in coincidences.
Another miracle: two members that haven't been to church in over a year came to church yesterday! Both from different wards so it was a special day to see them come back! Our efforts are paying off and I am so happy. The Lord is mindful of our efforts. He is blessing us immensely. If only I had enough time to email and write you all the amazing things I am seeing out here. I wish my fingers could type faster. But I'm quite the good story-teller and talker so no worries. In time. HAHA!
This week we have Zone Conference. It's going to be a 2 day event, so I am thrilled to hear from our Mission President and leaders. When our hearts are open to inspiration and revelation we receive it. I am looking forward to a lot of neat things this conference.
The work is slow. We tract nearly everyday, but we are inviting everyone we meet to learn more. I am grateful this area is difficult. It has opened my eyes and brought me great humility and strength. No matter what circumstances we are in, the Lord will guide and bless us. Sometimes we just need difficult moments to make us grateful! :)
We have a ward Luau this Saturday that we are working very hard at getting the entire community involved. It will be a great event for the members to invite their friends to. We've focused so much on member missionary work in this area: Family home evenings in the members' homes, encouraging them to invite their friends, and many activities planned to get the community and non-members to. It's been so fun!
Sunday is our Mission President's Devotional and they asked me to sing at it. I feel honored to be able to have that opportunity on my last full proselyting day. Our efforts are to get non-members there and to help them feel the spirit of recent converts and of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Tam is coming and we are trying to get our other friends out there, too. Wish us luck!
I love you all so much. I am going to live it up this week. Last the best of all the game! The work never ends! I still have so much to do! So here we go..!!
I LOVE YOU ALL!
