HOLA!
3 glorious baptisms this weekend!! Cord and Ira (brothers) and Se! We were at the church from 3 to 8 pm that day! Luckily members are so good to us and the people having a wedding reception in the cultural hall offered to feed us dinner! We were SO grateful! :) The baptisms were amazing and the Spirit so strong. Always. I LOVE IT!!
This past Thursday was a particularly rough day for me... I was sick, one of our precious investigators decided not to meet with us anymore (the older gentleman Had), and a few other minor things. But that night ended up proving me wrong at how bad my day was... we had received a random phone call just two days prior from a less-active member saying that his wife who is NOT a member wanted to have the lessons and learn more about baptism!
So Thursday night was our first appointment with them. When I saw them I recognized them! They always came to church and when we had first met them in church more than 2 months ago they both said no to having us over. They had had a change of heart and now she was ready. Her name is Ly and her husband is Bert. Ly is getting baptized in September! The Spirit was so strong and we knew without a doubt that what we had extended to her was right. She knows it's all true. She received that witness so many times at church... :) It was the perfect end to a terrible day. The Lord knew we needed to witness that miracle.
Last night Sister T and I were walking through an apartment complex when I saw a lady far away throwing something into the dumpster. She was far away, but I knew in my heart we REALLY needed to talk to her. We walked up to her and introduced ourselves. (Her name is Jae). We started testifying of our message of the Restoration. She seemed somewhat interested but said she was too busy for us. I got the chills and had the thought "She needs to hear about families." ... I began to talk about eternal families and she lit up, "I have 4 daughters! They mean everything to me.".
Sister T also followed the Spirit and began talking about the Primary and Young Women programs we have in the church and how it prepares and teaches about respect, faith, and integrity and virtue, etc etc. Jae got excited and said "That is exactly what I am looking for right now in my life. I am so scared for my daughters and they need to learn to be strong.... Do you want to meet my girls?" Excited for this change of heart we gladly accepted and she took us to her apartment. After a good meeting with them she said "Can I see you again maybe on Wednesday? I'll drop off the girls to the youth activity!" .... we left feeling so excited to have met her! I see great things in their future! (Their ward is currently fasting for missionary miracles! HERE WE GO!)
I love you all so much. Stay true to who you are: CHILDREN OF GOD!
Till next week,
Love Sister Sunscreen!
